RIP

Last night i received news that one of my oldest friends nephew had died. He had been battling cerebral as well as testicular cancer for a while now. Sadly he lost that fight. I wish my memories of him were better than what I have. Although he was never sick nor sickly till he was diagnosed a little over a year ago, his mother and grandmother kept him as a shut in. Poor kid never got to fully live life. I will treasure the few memories I do have of him as happy. The time we took him to watch the Devils and the time we took him to watch wrestling.
May you shelter in the palm of the Creator’s hand, and may the last embrace of the mother welcome you home Peter.

Brock vs Randy

As everyone knows by now Brock Lesnar has defeated Randy Couture for the UFC HW title. While I am not now, nor have I been in the past a Lesnar fan, I have to give credit where it is due. Congrats Brock. There are many that have been busy making excuses for Randy saying that he almost or it could have… Enough already, Randy lost fair and square. There are also many that are confused as to how there are two HW champs at the moment. To quickly recap how we got here:

• Randy beat Tim Sylvia for the HW
• Randy defended the belt from Gabriel Gonzaga
• Randy leaves UFC due to contract dispute (UFC doesn’t strip Randy of title, I don’t get it)
• Tim Sylvia loses to Antonio Rodrigo Nouguiera earning Nog the interim championship
• Frank Mir taps out Brock Lesnar for a shot at Nogs ‘belt’
• Randy returns thus creating a split championship
• Nog will fight Mir
• Winner will fight Lesnar to unify title

I predict it will be Nog vs Lesnar with Nog tapping Lesnar out.

Moving forward I really believe as do many others that the UFC needs to created a super heavyweight division. At 265 (the max for the hw division) and much higher after rehydrating, there is too much of a gap and thus an advantage for some of these larger fighters. No other division has such a disparity. We will see what happens. For those that care, no I don’t think that Brock deserved a title shot after only 3 fights one a loss, but those that run the UFC are in business to make money and Brockvs Randy no matter how you feel about it is/was a mint.

Randy came back during the taping of this current TUF. The fight had already been set between Mir and Nog when Randy announced his return.
Now having 2 HW titles a min tourny was made…

Happy Birthday

Holy crap! I alost forgot one of the most important days of the year. The Marine Corps birthday. Thats right, once a Marine always a Marine, so to all my fellow Devil Dogs past and present… Happy Birthday. OOOHHH RRRRaaaahhh!

Airbrushing

So I’m trying to learn how to airbrush. I want to give my bike a custom paint job and it will be much cheaper if I can do the work myself. Overall not very difficult. I have a basic set up consisting of an Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS and a Badger 180-11. I can’t seem to find the model I have on the Badger site so here is the first link off Google. I would not buy this model. The link says it shoots at 25psi, but my gauge indicates 30. I will say that you should buy the best compressor you can afford. The one I have is made for nails and has trouble shooting the Createx and Auto Air paint that I have. Even if I thin it down it just isn’t strong enough to shoot consistent lines. That makes trying to learn frustrating as it is hard to determine if its the dope on the gun or the dope behind it. In practicing at my brothers, who has a good compressor I get consistently clean lines. Still, when you consider that I got it at no cost, it makes it hard to complain.

Nokia N810

I have said it before and I will say it again, I love my n810. I really do. I usually have it with me not matter what I am doing. Now more than ever. I was considering on giving up my cell since I am mostly in an area covered by wifi, but have decided against it. Reason behind that is that it has become less reliable lately.

I am having variable battery issues. I have reflashed and selectively installed programs to try and determine what was causing the issue but have had no luck. There are several threads on ITT talking about this, but none really hit the mark for me. I can’t seem to pin it down. There are nights when with a full charge the battery will last all night, and others where it will die out after 2-3. I have checked before going to bed if there was anything running in the background that mught account for it but no  dice. I have left Gizmo running all night and gotten up with more than 3/4 battery other times have gotten up to a dead tablet. There are times when it will last all day with moderate use and others when I get to my destination with a dead device. I now carry the usb charger plug with me when I go out just in case. Not a big deal to carry as it is rather small, but sucks to not be able to depend on it. I guess I will have to invest in some spare batteries at some point. Can’t now being unemployed and all. Here is my current uptime and latest desktop.

Hate

I hear that word quite a bit. Truth be told I personally don’t use it much, but there are times that I do. One of the things I can say that I hate are Cimex lectularius aka the bedbug. I don’t think I’m alone in hating these vile things. Fir the most part I have nothing against bugs in general. I have served in both the US Army and The US Marine Corps. and have slept on the ground in several countries. (on duty and passed out drunk at times off) I have had many things crawl on me and not been over bothered by it. Then  again why should I? I am in its native environment and need to expect such things. However when I lay my head to rest at what I call home, I don’t expect these vampiric fucks to feast on me.

Before you say anything let me clearly state that I do  not have bedbugs. I recently got a call from an old friend asking me to help him dump some things as he had bedbugs. He was extremely embarrassed by the whole affair. It doesn’t reflect on him in my opinion. What would have reflected negatively on him was if he had just dumped the infested items outside. See there is a bedbug epidemic in the county I live in. Caused in large part ( I think) by irresponsible people. You see people are discovering these little fuckers and just dumping their mattresses and other furniture out into the street as is. All this does is allow the fuckers to spread. Yes eventually infecting the person that dumped the shit over again. How hard is it to place that mattress in a bag before putting it out in the street? How about using some JT Eaton  Kills Bedbugs on it before putting it in plastic?

This just re-enforces my belief that people suck. It wasn’t more than a few months ago that I discovered just how bad the bedbug situation had gotten in my county. I have been to no less than 7 peoples yard (in apartment buildings) that had furniture dumped that was just teeming with the vampiric fucks. I call them vampiric as they are nocturnal and live off of blood. Bring back DDT and eradicate these things.
